Senior Risk Lawyer
Our client - a top 50 International law firm - is seeking a Senior Risk Lawyer to join their Global Risk & Compliance team in London. This is a really exciting opportunity to support the firm’s Risk & Compliance Partner/COLP/MLRO in relation to their global responsibilities, with the potential to travel to the firm’s global offices.
To apply for this role you should be a qualified solicitor with at least 3 years of legal compliance experience, including dealing with confidentiality and ethics.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Drafting policies and procedures whilst accounting for changes in the regulatory law of the jurisdictions in which the firm operates in
- Analysing conflict reports, providing advice on complex conflict-related issues, as well as resolving escalated conflict queries, including US Conflicts rules
- Assisting the Risk & Compliance Partner/MLRO with queries which arise in relation to the SRA code, best practice and professional standards, conflicts, and financial crime.
- Reviewing Data Protection policies and procedures on an annual basis and updating as necessary, as well as assisting with Data Protection related queries and processes
Key Skills and Experience Required:
- Strong knowledge of the SRA Handbook and the Code of Conduct
- Excellent written legal skills, with the ability to draft and review policies procedures, terms of engagement, and contracts with third parties
- Knowledge of AML, Sanctions, Bribery and Corruption, Data Protection, Corporate Tax Evasion, and anti-modern slavery rules
- Ability to communicate with stakeholders and fee-earners at all levels
- Experience providing training, as well as dealing with claims and complaints
