Risk & Best Practice Lawyer

A top 100 UK law firm is seeking a Risk and Best Practice Lawyer to join their team. This is a really exciting opportunity to support the Director of Risk in delivering the firm’s risk and compliance function, provide commercial and legal support, ensure controls remain effective, and manage the firm's claims and complaints.

To apply for this role, you should be a qualified solicitor or legal executive with litigation experience, a good working knowledge of the laws and regulations that apply to a law firm, and risk and compliance experience.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Advising on escalated risk and compliance matters
• Managing the firm's GDPR compliance
• Drafting and updating policies and procedures
• Reviewing the firm’s contracts and retainer terms
• Assisting with the delivery of firm-wide compliance training
• Auditing client files
• Managing the firm's claims and complaints and supporting the claims handler
• Horizon scanning for legal and regulatory developments and managing the implementation of necessary changes
• Promoting best practices throughout the firm
• Assisting with compliance projects
