About the Role
We are working with a prestigious US law firm to hire an AML Team Leader in London. In this role, you’ll step into a key supervisory position within the financial crime function, managing a growing team while remaining hands-on with complex customer due diligence work. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced analyst ready to take the next step in their career and develop their leadership skills within a supportive, high-performing environment.
The firm is looking for a candidate with at least three years of AML experience, ideally gained in the legal sector. A deep understanding of corporate structures across a variety of jurisdictions is essential, as is the ability to translate complex risks into clear, actionable advice for senior stakeholders.
The responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the completion of CDD for a range of client matters, including assessing high-risk structures and reputational risks
- Conducting risk assessments, including PEP identification and matter categorisation
- Supervising and supporting analysts and apprentices in day-to-day work and professional development
- Providing regular training, quality control, and ensuring the accuracy of internal records and registers
- Supporting senior management with audits, regulatory requests and the tracking of key metrics
- Acting as the key contact for AML queries from across the business
- Contributing to continuous improvement of AML systems and processes, including collaboration with IT and Business Intelligence teams
They are looking for individuals with strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. You should be proactive, organised, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively across multiple departments.
