Compliance Assistant

We’re working with an established international law firm to appoint a Compliance Assistant. This role offers the opportunity to develop your legal compliance experience within a centralised Compliance Team, supporting client onboarding, due diligence and conflicts processes.

The firm is looking for a positive, detail-oriented graduate who is keen to build a career in legal compliance; candidates with previous compliance experience will also be considered. You’ll bring strong communication and organisational skills, sound judgement, accuracy and the ability to manage competing priorities independently and as part of a team.

The responsibilities will include:

• Checking documentation and AML information collected during new client and matter onboarding.
• Researching clients and matters using client websites, screening software and relevant databases.
• Verifying information provided by fee earners and support staff, and guiding them on the information and documents needed to complete onboarding.
• Responding to enquiries, building positive working relationships and helping colleagues navigate the onboarding process.
• Conducting conflicts searches using the Intapp Open database, analysing potential conflicts and ensuring potential commercial conflicts are handled appropriately.
• Developing an understanding of the SRA rules concerning conflicts of interest, confidentiality and disclosure.
• Working closely with the wider Compliance Team, including undertaking training to support more complex AML and conflicts analysis.
• Providing administrative support and assisting with other work related to resolving conflicts of interest.
