About the Role
We are working with a leading international law firm to appoint a Compliance Officer in Hong Kong. You will support the Business Acceptance team across conflicts, client and matter openings, due diligence, sanctions screening and information barriers, helping the firm manage risk and deliver a high-quality service to its clients.
The firm is seeking a compliance professional with at least three years’ relevant experience in a law firm environment and a solid understanding of AML and conflicts requirements. Strong research, communication and prioritisation skills are essential, alongside experience with Intapp Open and Walls and the ability to work effectively in a global team.
The responsibilities will include:
- Processing conflict search requests promptly and in a coordinated manner.
- Analysing conflict search results, identifying potential conflicts of interest and supporting their resolution.
- Managing requests for new client and new matter openings.
- Researching new clients, advising on appropriate customer due diligence and assisting fee earners in obtaining the required information and documentation.
- Supporting the ongoing monitoring of existing clients.
- Implementing and maintaining information barriers.
- Conducting sanctions screening.
- Providing information and responding to queries on business acceptance, compliance and risk-related matters.
- Working closely with other business support functions, including IT and Accounts.
- Using recognised research providers, such as Orbis, Accuity and equivalent platforms.
- Managing competing priorities and multiple deadlines while maintaining a timely and efficient service.
