About the Role
We are working with a prestigious international law firm to hire a Compliance Team Leader in Bristol. In this role, you’ll take on a leadership position overseeing and supporting strategic compliance initiatives, driving improvements to processes, and managing a team across varying experience levels within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
The firm is looking for someone with a minimum of four years’ experience in conflicts of interest and AML within a law firm, along with a strong background in leadership and people development. The successful candidate will have technical expertise in the regulatory frameworks governing legal practice and a proactive approach to risk management and operational excellence.
The responsibilities will include:
- Managing and supervising team leaders and analysts
- Overseeing work quality, workflow processes, service levels and team development
- Acting as a senior escalation point for complex conflicts and compliance issues
- Leading on improvements to conflicts clearance processes and training frameworks
- Supporting talent development through mentoring, coaching, and formal reviews
- Collaborating with stakeholders across compliance, legal teams and senior leadership
- Monitoring regulatory developments and contributing to policy updates
- Engaging in strategic initiatives, including business acceptance projects and lateral hires
- Representing the team in firm-wide meetings, partner onboarding, and governance presentations
They are looking for candidates with excellent communication skills, strong analytical judgement, and the ability to influence and lead within a highly regulated environment. A credible, collaborative approach and confidence in managing challenging conversations are also essential.
