Risk & Compliance Solicitor

We are working with a growing law firm to hire a Risk and Compliance Solicitor in Bournemouth. In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Risk and Compliance and the firm’s regulatory officers to ensure total adherence to legal, professional, and financial rules.

The firm is looking for a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with significant experience in a dedicated compliance role or a strong background in post-qualification litigation.

The responsibilities will include:

• Providing expert advice on regulatory, risk, and compliance issues across all departments of the firm.
• Acting as the Data Protection Officer, managing UK GDPR compliance, data breaches, and subject access requests.
• Recording and investigating complaints or breaches, and making necessary reports to the SRA or ICO.
• Designing, drafting, and implementing new compliance policies and procedures to meet changing legislation.
• Managing the internal file review process and reporting on findings to drive continual improvement.
• Supporting the annual professional indemnity insurance renewal and managing active claims and notifications.
• Assisting the MLRO with Money Laundering Regulations and the submission of Suspicious Activity Reports.
• Maintaining central compliance registers and overseeing the annual bulk practising certificate renewal.
