About the Role
We are working with a highly respected, London-based law firm to hire a Risk Lawyer specialising in claims and complaints management. In this role, you will act as a critical specialist within the Risk and Compliance team, taking the lead on investigating internal notifications of potential claims and ensuring the firm’s regulatory obligations are met with the highest level of precision.
The firm is looking for a motivated and proactive individual with an excellent understanding of professional conduct and indemnity matters who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-quality legal environment.
The responsibilities of this role will include:
- Investigating internal notifications of potential claims or circumstances by reviewing matter files and liaising with fee earners to produce comprehensive case summaries.
- Managing the firm’s response to formal complaints, ensuring all correspondence is drafted accurately and issued within strict regulatory timescales.
- Acting as a key point of contact for insurers, external legal advisors, and the Legal Ombudsman to resolve notified matters.
- Maintaining precise, up-to-date schedules of all live claims, notifications, and complaints for management reporting.
- Collaborating with the Head of Risk and Compliance to prepare annual insurance policy renewals, specifically detailing live claims and key exposures.
- Reviewing debt recovery matters where conduct issues have been raised and liaising with external recovery partners as required.
- Assisting with the review and preparation of responses to Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs).
- Contributing to firm-wide training and development by identifying trends in claims and complaints to improve practice standards.
