Our client - an international U.S. law firm - is seeking an AML Assistant to join their growing team in London. This an exciting opportunity to work as a part of the firm’s global conflicts team, assisting the London office Compliance Manager in ensuring that the firm is fully compliant with their CDD obligations under AML regulations.

The responsibilities of this role include:
  • Performing client due diligence - and enhanced due diligence when necessary - on new matters, collecting and organizing your findings and ensuring that AML forms are complete.
  • Providing support to fee earners (i.e., Attorneys, Partners, etc.); ensuring that new clients and newly opened matters comply with the firm's AML and CDD procedures
  • Screening clients and matter parties, as well as monitoring Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and high-risk jurisdictions
  • Responding to queries, assisting the conflicts team with ad hoc administrative duties, and covering the business support team in the submission of conflict checks and new matters
  • Providing assistance to the London Office Administrator from time to time, regarding general administrative duties
To be considered for the role you will need:
  • 12+ months of experience working within a law firm in a similar role
  • To be educated to degree level (or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with AML regulations including, but not limited to, KYC and CDD
  • Demonstratable experience in planning, problem-solving and decision-making
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels, especially with clients and Partners
