About the Role

We are working with a leading international law firm to hire a AML & Conflicts Assistant  in London. In this role, you’ll be part of the team responsible for supporting the firm’s compliance operations by handling conflict checks, new matter reviews, and post-inception requirements, including client due diligence.

The firm is looking for a detail-focused professional with prior experience in a compliance, paralegal or administrative capacity-ideally within a legal or professional services environment. Candidates should have a solid understanding of risk and compliance processes, including conflicts, AML and CDD.

The responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating client onboarding, including conflict checks and due diligence
  • Conducting thorough conflict checks using internal databases and external sources
  • Performing risk screenings for AML, sanctions, PEPs, and other red flags
  • Supporting the creation and audit of information barriers
  • Managing post-inception requirements, including risk assessments and documentation
  • Liaising with fee earners to ensure complete and accurate compliance records
  • Completing verification checks and maintaining records in line with regulations
  • Identifying and escalating high-risk issues during client onboarding
  • Carrying out audits and file reviews on existing matters
  • Assisting with training and policy development in compliance-related areas
  • Responding to queries and supporting the wider Compliance team as needed
