About the Role

We are working with a highly respected law firm in London to hire a Compliance Manager. Within this role, you will spend 2 days in London and 1 in Bournemouth/Southampton. In this role, you’ll lead a team of compliance professionals, partner with senior stakeholders, and play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the firm’s compliance framework. You’ll be instrumental in embedding a proactive culture of risk awareness and driving continuous improvement across compliance processes.

The firm is seeking a motivated individual with significant compliance experience gained within a large law firm or in-house legal environment. Ideally, you will bring a strong background in managing people and projects, with a proven ability to work collaboratively and influence across all levels.

The responsibilities will include:

  • Supervise various compliance professionals to ensure best practice standards are upheld
  • Handle complaints and complex compliance queries
  • Ensure key documentation, overview spreadsheets and various policies are regularly updated
  • Assess and update the central risk register to produce a monthly review for the COLP and COFA
  • Stay up to date with relevant legislative changes and ensure internal processes reflect them
  • Oversee general and new-joiner compliance training firm-wide where necessary
  • Assist the COLP and COFA in compliance investigations
  • Handle the monthly file review process, delegating tasks and reviewing trends/patterns of concern to address
