About the Role

We are working with a prestigious international law firm to hire a Compliance Manager in Manchester. In this role, you’ll co-lead a team of analysts, overseeing new business checks, advising lawyers on compliance and risk, and driving improvements in the firm’s business acceptance procedures and systems.

The firm is looking for a compliance professional with significant experience in a legal or professional services environment, and a strong understanding of conflicts, financial crime, and regulatory risk. You should bring proven leadership experience, ideally having managed analyst teams, training programmes, and service delivery in a global setting.

The responsibilities will include:

  • Co-managing the central compliance team 
  • Providing technical and personal development support to analysts
  • Overseeing quality assurance and workflow management across global teams to resolve complex legal, commercial and risk-related issues
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Advising key stakeholders on regulatory and reputational risks, with consideration of regulations and internal policies
  • Designing and delivering an ongoing programme of training for both analysts and legal/business teams across the firm
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of policies, procedures and systems to drive continuous improvement and efficiencies
  • Promoting a mindset of innovation and continuous improvement within the team and the wider firm
