About the Role

We are working with a leading law firm to hire a Compliance Manager in Leeds. In this role, you’ll take ownership of the client and matter onboarding process while overseeing a team of Risk & Compliance Analysts. You’ll act as a key advisor on regulatory issues and contribute to the development and implementation of firmwide risk policies.

The firm is seeking someone with significant experience in risk and compliance within a legal environment, ideally with at least five years of relevant expertise. A strong understanding of UK money laundering regulations and the SRA Codes of Conduct is essential.

The responsibilities will include:

Leading and managing the client and matter onboarding process

Line management of Risk & Compliance Analysts

  • Handling first-line conflict checks, sanctions screening, and PEP assessments
  • Advising on CDD/EDD matters and other regulatory queries
  • Delivering training on onboarding and regulatory compliance
  • Reviewing and analysing conflicts of interest
  • Supporting the implementation of risk controls and information barriers
  • Responding to client compliance questionnaires and data requests
