About the Role
We are working with a premier international law firm to hire a Contracts Manager in London. In this role, you will sit within the Risk Management department under the general direction of the General Counsel’s office, taking primary responsibility for managing the end-to-end lifecycle and procurement of the firm's third-party supplier contracts in the UK.
The firm is looking for an independent, commercially minded professional with a law degree and significant experience handling vendor agreements within a large law firm, corporate legal department, or multinational organisation. They are looking for candidates with a high degree of commercial acumen, strong drafting capabilities, and a sound understanding of GDPR and commercial compliance frameworks. You should possess excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the diplomatic agility to navigate competing priorities and report effectively to the In-House Counsel team.
The responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a diverse range of supplier agreements, including software licensing, SaaS, IT infrastructure, outsourcing, and professional services contracts.
- Evaluating emerging technology contracts, demonstrating a strong practical awareness of the risks, data training obligations, and evolving regulations tied to AI and machine learning platforms.
- Partnering closely with internal Information Security and Data Privacy teams to ensure vendor terms adequately protect intellectual property, data security, and service level agreements.
- Advising internal stakeholders across the firm on contractual risks, ensuring agreements align with the organisation's risk appetite.
- Managing, maintaining, and driving the continuous technical development of the firm's bespoke central contract management system.
- Directing the supplier due diligence process, ensuring compliance questionnaires (covering GDPR, data processing, anti-bribery, and sustainability) remain up to date.
- Operating effectively within a global matrix structure, coordinating with regional teams to implement global frameworks while accommodating local jurisdictional requirements.
- Managing the procurement intake mailbox and designing training programmes to promote procurement systems and best practices across the firm.
