About the Role

We are working with a leading international law firm to hire a Regulatory Lawyer to join their dynamic risk and compliance team in London. In this role you’ll provide expert guidance on a range of regulatory and professional risk matters, supporting senior leadership in maintaining the firm’s high standards of compliance across its UK operations. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to shaping the future direction of a forward-thinking risk function in a respected global practice.

The firm is looking for a qualified lawyer with at least 5 years’ PQE in an international commercial law environment, with strong knowledge of the SRA Code of Conduct, data protection matters, and contract review.

The responsibilities will include:

  • Advising fee earners and business support teams on a wide variety of regulatory and compliance queries
  • Providing guidance on SRA rules, data protection, breaches and subject access requests
  • Supporting teams with matters including confidentiality, share dealing, outside interests, anti-bribery and corruption
  • Assisting with third-party documents such as auditor requests and secondment agreements
  • Drafting and updating internal policies and procedures
  • Reviewing and advising on client terms in collaboration with specialist contract lawyers
  • Delivering firm-wide training on risk and compliance issues
  • Supporting internal audits, investigations, and risk assessments
  • Acting as a key contact on regulatory issues arising from new business intake, conflicts and AML queries
  • Monitoring legal and regulatory developments and contributing to strategic risk projects as required
  • They are seeking candidates with excellent judgement, strong research and analytical skills, and the confidence to communicate clearly and diplomatically across the firm. Flexibility, discretion, and a proactive mindset are essential.
