About the Role
We are working with a reputable regional law firm to find a Risk Manager for their team in Hull. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in ensuring regulatory compliance, managing risk, and supporting the firm’s continued commitment to excellence.
The firm is looking for an experienced risk and compliance professional with a strong understanding of legal practice standards and prior experience in a similar role. You’ll need a proactive approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and the confidence to advise on complex regulatory matters.
The responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring compliance with SRA standards
- Advising on regulatory standards and obligations, including conflicts and data protection
- Assisting the COLP in communications with the SRA and other external bodies
- Managing complaints, claims, and liaising with relevant authorities
- Handling Lexcel accreditation renewals and supporting documentation
- Maintaining and updating the firm’s risk registers
- Delivering training as required
- Reviewing engagement letters and terms of business
- Collaborating closely with the senior management
