Compliance Officer

We are working with an independent law firm to recruit a Compliance Officer to join their collaborative and highly regarded London team.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Head of Risk and Compliance, supporting a range of firmwide compliance functions and contributing to the delivery of robust risk management across the business. You’ll assist with tasks spanning AML, client onboarding, conflicts, and monitoring, while also helping to develop and maintain best practice in line with the SRA’s regulatory framework.

The firm is looking for a candidate with prior experience in a law firm environment and a good understanding of client onboarding and KYC requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting client and third-party checks via SmartSearch and managing ongoing monitoring
• Reviewing risk assessment forms and providing guidance to fee earners
• Undertaking conflict checks and analysing results
• Supporting internal monitoring, audits, and file reviews
• Researching regulatory updates and supporting the drafting of internal policies
• Preparing compliance reports, minutes, and documentation for audits and renewals
• Providing administrative support and managing ad hoc compliance projects

The ideal candidate will be organised, proactive, and solutions-focused, with excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail. You’ll be comfortable handling confidential information, managing competing priorities, and contributing to a positive, collaborative culture.
